First of all...Glow worms are...

Glow worms, interestingly, are not worms, infact they are actually the larvae of an insect known as the fungus gnat. The Fungus gnat larvae are found in either Australia and New Zealand, in sheltered places like caves. They are a major attraction in both countries, and bring in millions of dollars from tourists every year. They have a rising popularity among tourists and locals.

Glow worms, of course, derive the name for their ability to produce a natural light, through a process known as bioluminescence. They give out a blue/green glow. The light is used to attract prey such as small snails, midges, moths etc. With the females, the light glows as a mating call to adult males nearby.

The glow worm is completely unique to ireland and this was another important factor in us choosing to follow on in the idea. The idea is different and exciting and we feel by bringing a simulated version the the glow worm environment to ireland, that it would attract many viewers, as does the real environment in Australia and new zealand, as I have mentioned before.
